Nick Ervinck has become increasingly known in recent years for his yellow colored polyester sculptures in public space, such as in Westende. However, his oeuvre unfolds through a variety of media in a specific form language. He allows various techniques such as 3D prints, animation videos, digital and "ordinary" drawings to interact with one another, ultimately resulting in monumental sculptures. “What fascinates me is how sculpture has evolved throughout history thanks to new techniques and materials. I want to continue with that. Hence my fascination for the 3D printer. This is still too expensive for large sculptures, but I print small works here in my studio. That way I can create hugely complex shapes. ”
