In 2006 the statue of the twins Annemieke and Rozemieke was unveiled.

Annemieke and Rozemieke or de Miekes are two characters from the Flemish comic series 'Jommeke' by Jef Nys. De Miekes are the girlfriends of Jommeke and Filiberke. The Miekes first appear in the second album from the series, The Singing Monkey. From album 39, 'Dear Choco' they have a pet, the monkey Choco, in imitation of Jommeke and Filiberke.
